The Springfield housing market saw a noticeable surge in activity in March, with the median list price rising to $207,750, up 15% from February. Homes are also moving significantly faster, as the median days on market dropped to just 32 days, a sharp 31% decrease month-over-month. New listings jumped 29%, bringing more inventory to the market, while the price per square foot increased to $119, up 3.7%. Overall, March reflected a fast-moving and increasingly competitive market, with rising prices and strong listing activity compared to February.
For buyers, this means more options are becoming available, but homes are selling much quicker, making it important to stay ready and act fast when the right opportunity comes up. For sellers, the combination of rising prices and shorter time on market creates a strong advantage, especially for well-priced homes that can attract immediate interest. As the market continues to pick up, both buyers and sellers should expect a more competitive pace heading into the spring season.
